You can buy an indoor antenna and place inside the window near the tv. It works great. I started out with the weakest strength for around 25 dollars and it gets crystal clear reception. The further you are from the city towers, the more powerful the antenna needs to be. It is called the LEAF antenna, it is super thin and looks nice.

Its possible you can hook up antenna on your roof and run a cable to the TV to try and get local channels. You do get the streaming channels of which marny are free and others you have to pay for like Netflix. But simply turning on the TV and finding local TV channels same as with a cable company is not going to happen, unless you try with a roof antenna.
