I was asked to leave a review after my purchase and I did, but it never made it to this page, nor did I receive a response. It's an honest review with honest frustrations. I reached out to Sharp for trouble shooting info initially and they told me that this TV was made specifically for Best Buy, so it's out of their hands. The bottom line is it won't stay connected to WiFi, despite my WiFi working everywhere else in my home. I finally connected my old Roku box to this Roku TV. It's funny, but it worked and I have no issues. It's not funny, because it defeats the purpose. I also have problems with this TV shutting down randomly. I assume it's re-starting to try and re-connect to WiFi, but it never can. I bought it in June and it's just become worse. The volume goes out at times too. I saved the packaging but I haven't had two seconds to take this back or think about the alternative purchase. I have bigger problems in this life, so purchasing a tv should have been the least of my worries.

I was leery of buying this tv as I had my eyes on another model/brand, but against my better judgement I allowed myself to be talked into buying this one by one of the "non-commissioned" "low-pressure" Best Buy Associates, and I have regretted it ever since. Besides the pain of having to setup a Roku account when all I want to do is watch basic cable in my bedroom, this TV seems to decide for itself when it wants to show a picture and when it doesn't! The audio is fine, but the picture from the cable box comes on sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. There is no pattern or particular event that precedes the picture from not working, it just sometimes shows up, and other times we can hear the program but just see a black screen. The only remedy is to choose "rename input" from the menu and switch it from "cable box" to "cable TV" and vice versa, but that's only a temporary fix, and the by next one or two times I turn it on, the picture disappears again. I'm using a nice gold hdmi cable too, and it worked great for the last few years on my 40" Westinghouse, but this Sharp has been a nightmare for the last three weeks. Needless to say it's going back to the store soon, and I'll trust my better judgment vs the associates next time.

Ok, I'm kind of surprised. We needed a TV combination for our office, as it often doubles as a playroom. I have multiple Roku devices, but having one built-in seemed ideal. (I've loved all Roku's but the 4, but that's another story). The interface from the remote, while a bit strange at first, really makes sense. Just remember when you pick the thing up to hit the HOME button. I also record our workout videos to Plex, so this one TV now works for kid videos, kid gaming system (Leap Frog), workout video player, and I've even decided to have it do triple duty as the monitor to the office computer through HDMI cable (why have more screens taking up space). It does it all, for less than one cheap computer monitor would cost. No, it probably won't be a great centerpiece for your game room and home theater. Come on, buy the right tool for the job. If you're young (I'm not) and see well, I can see it as great for a small apartment. The Roku in this device is quick enough I've had no buffering issues (wireless to a Netgear Nighthawk). No reliability issues as of 1 year of solid service. The only complaint I can come up with, it seems to tilt a little left on it's feet, which have limited function (no adjustments). It's stable, but I keep wanting to put a book under one side. Maybe it's just me.

I purchased this tv as a graduation present for my son’s future dorm room at University of Florida. It was an open box item priced considerably lower than the retail price. I made the online for store pick up at 8am. It was picked up at 10am. I returned it at 11: 15am. I knew something was wrong when the store rep handed me the box and all that could be heard was things moving around inside. He even told me to hold the packaging a certain way because the tv would fall out. Needless to say the tv was broken, missing the power cord, and stand. It also came with two mismatched remotes that were all taped up with blue Greek squad lettering. I am so glad that I checked the unit before presenting it to my son at his graduation party. When I mentioned the multiple reasons why I was unsatisfied with my purchase to the return clerk. He just shook his head and asked if I wanted my receipt emailed or printed. No apologize was offered at any time. I’ve learned a valuable lesson. 1) never buy an open boxed item again from Best Buy 2) Don’t expect an apology from the Best Buy staff.

Roku TV but Hulu won't work, no matter what

I stream all my TV thru multiple devices using Roku stick. Bought this TV because I love Roku and thought this TV would be great because I didn't need to buy a Roku stick. All my other channels like Netflix and Amazon stream fine...but HULU does not. It just stays on buffering for 8 minutes and times out. After an hour with Smart support, adding and deleting Hulu multiple times, resetting TV to factory settings, adding Hulu again, disconnecting router and reconnecting over and over, they told me to return the TV, which I did a week after purchase. Guess what, new one has exact same problem. Apparently, either Hulu changed something that is incompatible with the Roku set up in the TV or Roku needs to send an update to TV so it is compatible with this new version of HULU. Many others complain with this same problem online (on Samsung TVs as well since Sep 17 when Hulu updated) and no one can get it to work! Love the size of the TV...but hate that I paid good money and it can't play HULU, my favorite. Will probably have to return this one as well. I hope Roku or Hulu or Smart read this review and make changes. Smart support can't help us...too bad.

I bought this tv for a kids room. I knew I wanted a Roku but was concerned that the “built in” kind would be low powered and laggy. I could not be more pleased with the response to navigate and load an app just as if it were an external device. I wanted a Roku because there are no favorites with app providers. Most smart tv’s are only allowed to have certain apps available to the user. Meaning an LG smart tv to does not have a deal with ABC or Disney. That means no apps. But Samsung might have some but not all. Roku just has everything. If you want Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Amazon, etc. it will be there. Screen and sound quality is great for the price. I have a Wii connected and the video quality is good through the RCA jacks. I have not tried the HDMI or Cable connections.

Sharp 32" Roku TV Won't Stay Connected

I wish I'd done more research before buying this tv to realize the number of people who had the exact same issue I'm having - connecting to or remaining connected to their internet. The picture quality and sound is fine, especially considering the price paid for it. The tv worked fine the first week I had it but since then it has stopped working. It sees my home network fine but is unable to connect to the Internet. Every other device I use in the same room works flawlessly. The main reason I got this was to wirelessly watch tv. I don't want to invest more money in more equipment like dongles to get this thing to do what it is supposed to wirelessly. I shouldn't have to repeatedly do factory resets and go through setups to restore connections. If you're looking for a tv with a good picture at a low price then this is worth consideration, but if you want one that's going to reliably work out of the box then look elsewhere.

Purchased this set to use in a bedroom at my mother in laws house for nighttime use. Sales guy tried to up sell me, but this was a great value at $149. I can use this set to stream most of the content I want to see, plus Pandora for music. Setup took 5 minutes, and another few to establish a Roku account. This is a great solution if you don’t have a cable jack in the room, although connecting the set to a cable box is a piece of cake. Picture is solid, and although several people have complained about the sound, it was perfectly acceptable and even superior to a Samsung that we have at home (and $100 less). At 720p, it won’t support blue ray or higher end picture technology, but at this price point, it is an ideal set. I’d buy again.
