The Sharp "smart" TV (NON-ROKU) do *not* have Hulu on them nor is there any plan for it to be offered in Sharp's app store. So, if you get the Sharp with integrated Roku you get Hulu (and just about any other streaming application available.) Roku is also much more stable as a streaming platform than the Android based smart TVs. Roku also has Youtube which Amazon Fire TV does not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just picked this up to replace a Sharp 43" smart TV. The Roku makes this one far superior. The interface is much slicker, the apps are completely customizable. This one has optional apps for PBS Kids, PBS, and Nick Jr that we already love. It also has Hulu which is huge for us. If you attach a thumb drive you can pause live TV, and it allows remote control with your phone, which is huge for us with little kids who like to hide remotes in the couch cushions. I was weary of Roku because Consumer Reports mentioned adds, but it is just that if you search for a movie that isn't available free, you can choose to rent it from a source like Fandango. Roku stays pretty independent though, showing multiple sources and prices, always showing the lowest price up top.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I never used it until now but it gives me access to so much more that I had before.
