I have this unit (KC850E). I've recently replaced the filters, including the humidifier element but the when I push the plasmacluster button, I initially get a humidity reading but a few minutes later, an "E2 Error" appears.

I've had this problem several times.
I've done the simple "check the humidifier section", and this does not solve the problem.  I've replaced the humidifier wick and cleaned the assembly but that didn't sort it out.

so, I eventually took the back off, and cleaned the mineral encrusted wheel that turns the wick.

It's survived about 2 yrs... I'm ready to do it again :(

I'm having the same issue. I think the pad spinning motor is working but since it makes a ticking sound I'm pretty sure it's a gear. These parts are available from appliancefactoryparts.com

I have the same problem and found out the humidifier wheel doesn’t spin anymore. There is a motor to turn the wheel slowly and mine motor stop working. So the E2 code appears when the filter dry out. Can’t find any information about the motor.

My unit is new and the same thing happens. I’ve checked the filter, and water. But the E2 message still comes back. Also Sharp has a terrible customer service department. They were no help.

Hello, an E2 error code means abnormal humidifying filter. Please verify if the humidifying filter,
humidifying tray and water tank are properly installed and then turn the power on again.
