  • QuestionHow many filters does KC-850U have? How long does the filter need to change?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the Sharp KC-850U Air Purifier. The air purifier draws in room air from the air intake, passes the air through a Pre- Filter, a Washable Deodorizing filter and a True HEPA filter inside of the unit, then discharges the air through the air outlet. Some odors absorbed by the filters may break down over time, resulting in additional odor. Depending on the usage environment, especially when the product is used in extreme environments (significantly more severe than normal household use), this odor may become strong in a shorter period than expected. If the odor persists, the filters should be replaced. Guide for filter replacement timing True HEPA filter - Up to 5 years after opening Filter life can be greatly reduced depending on the room environment. Cigarette smoke, pet dander, and other airborne particles can reduce filter life. Check filters regularly and replace as necessary. Washable Deodorizing filter - Up to 5 years after opening The filter can be repeatedly used after washing, or it can be replaced. Humidifying filter - Up to 2 years after opening Filter life can be greatly reduced depending on the room environment. Even if 2 years have not passed, replace the Humidifying filter if you notice the following: • Mineral deposits (white, black, or red masses) which are not removed after cleaning or the Humidifying filter is still dirty. • Filter is severely damaged or warped.

  • Questionwater refillhow frequent do I have to refill the water? Do you have model that automatically refill? What's the best humidity percentage in the room for human beings? do you ship to Vietnam?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Thank you for your interest in the KC850U Sharp air purifier. Sharp Electronics advises users should only operate this purifier in the regions covered by the warranty. The water should be replaced daily. Sharp does not make any models that automatically refill the water. We do not have a recommendation for the best humidity percentage because there are too many variables that could determine the number. You will need to select the setting that best suits your personal preferences.

  • QuestionWhat is the temperature of the air? Warm or cool? From my experience, Cool air tends to make room feel colder in the winter months

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer I know exactly what you mean, and have had other humidifiers that made the room feel cooler. This one does not do that, which is why I like it. In my experience, this is the best humidifier / air purifier that I've ever owned, and is well worth the money. And, it is low-profile and quiet enough that it could be easily located in any room in the house. Just make sure to buy a model that suits the size room where you plan to use it. For example, the one I own is rated to handle up to about 250 square feet.

  • QuestionDoes this unit help clean COVID in the air?

    Asked by AirCleaning.

    • Answer no, I doubt it. There is nothing inside related to 'Plasmacluster' to kill anything. No UV/Ozone etc. The particulate filter might engage aerosols but that isn't the entire story. Interestingly, I seen dental offices using this type of filter during COVID. I get a warm feeling, but don't think there is any evidence that this reduced spread. It could, inadvertently lead to increased distribution, if the filter draws contaminated air past an uninfected person :(

  • QuestionBought this air purifier, but it keeps changing mode itself.... Board issue?

    Asked by EUSA.

    • Answer I suggest you re-read the instructions. It will explain how long it remains in each, given mode before reverting to the base filtering action. Not every mode 'changes' on it's own, but some due.

  • QuestionWater is falling from the water tank into the little place inside where the filter is placed. Is this normal or is there a problem with the apparatus I bought?

    Asked by Star.

    • Answer the water tank feeds the humidifier wick which is rotated by a small rubber wheel located inside the humidifier area, at the top. It tends to get caked with minerals, leading to an E2 error. So, water does fall into the tray that the humidifier wick rotates within. It is controlled by the small float (square blu-ish styrofoam block) that moves freely in the assembly
