“Does the humidifier have automatic shut-off if it runs out of water?”

• it does not shut off the machine, but it warns you with a flashing red light on the front. Filtered air will pass through the humidifier wick, like it would in an evaporative humidifier on a furnace. Unless the wick is rotating in the trough of water, it will simply dry out... and not contribute to increasing the humidity in the room.
