“How well does this unit deal with cigar smoke? Looking for an air purifier for my den that I have my cigar in. Wifey complains the smoke comes into the other room even with the window open. Looking to eliminate that.”

Hi not sure about ciger smoke but i do know when i burn the food on the stove it clear it up fast and when my husband was cutting something with his saw it started smelling like burnt metal i put the air purifier on and it went away less then 5min

I don't know if it will work 100% with all windows closed. We also have another air purifier, so you may need 2 or a powerful air purifier that covers more square footage. This air purifier is great for the price and for what it is intended for.

The CARD (Clean Air Delivery Rate) for sharp KC-850U is lower than sharp KC-860U. The exact CARD-rate for KC-850U is 164 for dust and smoke, and 174 for pollen. For smaller bedrooms up to 254 square feet is this number adequate, however if have a larger requirement for room size, you have to consider Sharp kc-860u Plasmacluster air purifier, as it boasts a higher rate: 231 for dust, 220 for smoke, and 245 for pollen. But even with a higher CARD, KC-860U is not suitable for large living rooms, only small living rooms or large bedrooms up to 341 square feet. So we would recommend the KC-850U or the KC-860U depending on the size of your den.
