I got these specifically because I have very narrow ear canals and regular earbuds are painful/don't stay in, so they are definitely good in that regard. As far as being able to hear around high noise level that's probably much more subjective. I haven't felt that they aren't loud enough, but because they don't create a seal around your ear you do still hear background noise and there's no sound cancelling functionality because of that
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Smaller ears: they fit around the ear lobe. I imagine that a small child would have problems (who puts $200 ear phones on a < 10 yr old?). Loud background noise is a problem. On occasion I've had to cover my ear with my hand (while at full volume). I've had to extricate myself from the area of the loud noise.
