Is this water proof? null

The electronic lock mechanism itself is not "weatherproof", but since it mounts on the inside of the door, it should not need to be. Nothing on the outside of the door changes - it retains the outside keyed portion of your deadbolt lock. They wireless keypad can be mounted anywhere (within range of the SimpliSafe base station) and is "weatherproof".

The Smart Lock is designed to install over your existing deadbolt, replacing the *inside* part where the thumbturn is. So it's not designed for external use - unlike the PIN Pad, which can indeed withstand all outdoor conditions.
