Yes it does. However there is a very low risk that an unauthorized person would wirelessly steal your passport data. The reason for this is that you need access to your physical passport to read the data on the embedded RFID chip. First you need to read a security code that is only printed on a page in your physical passport, you then need to enter that code into the equipment you are using to read your passport. If you do not have access to this security code the RFID chip will not transmit it’s data. This is more secure compared to a credit card which will always transfer your sensitive card details if it is read by a scanner.
