You can use a three prong cord but it won’t be grounded. Just be sure the wires to the outlet are in good condition, that it’s a 40 amp circuit and the breaker is in good shape. An electrician can help with that. You can use the four prong cord, but would need a new outlet and it will have to be grounded. Again, an electrician can do that. They should have had both cords on the truck and put on the one you wanted. If they didn’t call Best Buy, they did you wrong.

Power cords where out over time, so I feel safer spending a few extra dollars for a new cord. Just my personal opinion. Hope this helps. Good luck with your new appliance. Best Buy can't be beat.
