QuestionDoes this system require a receiver? If so, what do you suggest? Also I see that the speakers are black but, are they paintable so you can match the wall paint.

- Answer Hi, Yes, this system does require an A/V receiver that can support at least a 5.1 system (5 channels of full-range audio and 1 channel for the subwoofer.) The receiver should also have at least 100-watts of power or more per channel to power the system properly. The speakers are black; however, the speaker grilles are white and are paintable. QuestionI just bough the speakers, what cable gauge do you recommend? Also I am planning to use a receiver Yamaha RX-A780BL, do you think that receiver is good enough?

Questioni'm looking at 2 different sets but cant find much on them. can you tell me the big difference in performance between the Model MAG5.1R SKU 6196627 vs the MAG5.1 Premium SKU 6401739. I know 1 is wall mounted vs ceiling.

- Answer Hi Ed, The MAG5.1 Premium comes with (3) MAG6 LCR in-wall speakers and 2 MAG6 SUR surround speakers. Each front speaker has 2 woofers and 1 tweeter versus MAG5.1R which offers (3) MAG6R round in-ceiling speakers and 2 MAG6 SUR. Each front speaker has 1 woofer and 1 tweeter. The other big difference is the MAG 5.1 Premium comes with our MS10 Subwoofer a 10" powered subwoofer that includes our wireless transmitter and receiver kit. The MAG 5.1R comes with our MS8 Subwoofer a 8" powered subwoofer. I hope you found this information helpful. - Answer They do, at least my did. They are also made to be painted if you need to make to a specific color on the wall or ceiling. I have been very impressed with the speakers, although I think the sub could use a little more punch. Enjoy
