You can definitely do that, however $600 for Mariner 64 + $800 for Amp is $1400, or about $150. The difference between the two is this system was designed to be put on sale, and secondly the quality is the same as they share many of the same components inside. However the main difference is the audio ranges, which indicates the driver may be different.
