the TV or cable remote will not control the volume of the Sonos, but if the TV has a variable audio out capability then it will work.

Please try again later.The Amp has an IR sensor on the front and learns your remote while connected to the television in the same way that all of our sound bar products learn your remote codes. As long as the front of the Amp is visible to the remote it will work. Additionally, if you have the Amp connected through HDMI ARC and CEC+ controls turned on then you would not need line of sight to the Amp as the CEC protocol should control the volume through the HDMI ARC connection.
