You only partially answered my question. I have spent a lot of money for my ceiling speakers. I have a receiver driving those speakers that doesn't have ARC. If I buy a sonos ARC would those three speakers be compatible in terms of timing and sound? null

Hi, Apologies, as We must not have understood your question. ARC will only work with your in ceiling speakers if they are surrounds. ARC is the front channels of your home theater system. So no, it will not work in conjunction with front in ceilings. However, If you'd like to use those in ceilings as rears, you can do so with the Sonos AMP powering them. There is no way to use a pair of in ceilings with ARC for the front channels in any way, shape, or form. We hope this answers your question.

Can you use a Port Streaming Media Player - to drive the reciever amp using the Aux inputs to make a complete 5.1 surround system? The Sonos Arc would be the controller and tell the port streaming media player to output the rear surrounds? In addition... you can them stream music to the in ceiling speakers for ambient music.
