If I understand your question correctly, you can use the arc for streaming music. I do it all the time. You just have to set it up within your Sonos app.

Please try again later.I have ceiling surround speakers and in order to link them with the ARC, I had to add the Sonos Amp and I chose to add the Sonos wireless sub as well. I'm adding a port for my zone 2 speakers but have to add another amplifier to it because I have zone 2 manual volume controls. I will be able to send wireless audio from my phone, tablet etc to zone 2. My setup is being professionally installed. Hope this helps.
