Technically sound will be same if not mistaken you just won’t get the Dolby atmos enabled speakers soundbar comes with as optical cannot decode them.

Technically, arc or earc through HDMI would have better bitrates.

Realistically, no one is able to tell the difference with human ears. It's a great sounding bar, but it's not an audiophile studio setup.

Only other piece is optical doesn't allow 7.1 surround, can't support that much data.

Arc and earc through HDMI can utilize 7.1

Again though, it's a bar, it can technically do 7.1, but unnoticeable due to the speaker placements. 5.1 is all you really need.
