A soundbar is not designed to work with a receiver. They are designed to connect directly to a television.

Sound is available at the hdmi monitor out on the receiver, so it shouldn’t be a problem to get the sound at the sound bar using the hdmi in , i have not test it but I don’t see why it would not work .
Now the video portion is another story.
