• A:Answer The price is technically the same as the first generation. Sonos raised the prices on all of their products last week...so the new price for this Beam reflects that. This Beam has a more powerful processor vs. the original and can play sound in Dolby Atmos. The original Beam does not.

Q: QuestionDoes the voice enhancement on the Beam (Gen 2) really make a big difference in being able to clearly hear dialogue? Would consider buying to clearly hear voice dialogue alone. Frequently background sound drowns out dialogue in current home theatre setup.

• A:Answer It really helped me. I’m 71 years old and have worn hearing aids for over 15 years. I can now understand dialogue much more clearly at a volume that doesn’t drive my wife out of the room. Background music that plays during so many TV shows is also less of a problem.

Q: QuestionWhat does hdmi pass through do? With this not having it, what would I lose? Currently all sources are connected to the tv without a sound bar. If I connect this to the tv and leave everything else the same will o get proper sounds!

• A:Answer Thank you for your question. The Beam does us HDMI to plug into the tv. It can plug into standard ARC or eARC. To get the most out of your home theater experience with Beam, you'll want to make sure to plug your Beam into ARC or eARC and switch the other components to other HDMI ports. You can plug into optical and still great great sound however, optical doesn't support Dolby Atmos.
