Description says it supports everything that echo does but now that I have one I can see that it does not. You can not play on multiple speakers unless they are all Sonos (tried group option but speakers not available). You can not drop in on the speaker or use as intercom. You can not change the wake word from Alexa like with the Dot. Perhaps these will be fixed with a future software update. There might be more but that is what I found today on release date.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Early reviews have stated that it supports the same functions as other third party Alexa devices. Unfortunately, Amazon keeps some of the best features to itself. So, no echo calling, no drop in, no ESP. Hopefully they reconsider their policy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Routines is the biggest issue for me that also reduces the amount of automation you can do within the Alexa platform. Think of Alexa integration as Alexa 1.0 rather than Alexa with Echo being 4.0. Simple commands work but the innovation seems to lag. I am using https://ifttt.com with google and Alexa now to improve the overall functionality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is limited but it works with all the smart home devices that we have such as Wemo plugs, hue lights, etc. No Alexa calling, drop in, can’t change wake word, each groups don’t seem to work (making it part of a smart home group so it knows what lights to turn off without having to say the full device name).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does not support Light control. Verified via Amazon Alexa support. There may be others but not sure as of yet. The Alexa in the Sonos One is designed for music and Sonos speaker control as the primary feature set (even that is still expanding).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are only limited outside the US.
