Why the $100.00 price increase? null

No, I understand that. And if the market will bear a $100.00 increase that's fine. But for a number of years this unit has sold for $599.00. On sale I have seen it as low as $399.00. Suddenly the price jumps $100.00. Just hard to understand apart from a realization that Sony could do it and still sell it to many people.
