Hi frustrated, we're sorry for any inconvenience, with regards to the display that doesn't come up on your TV, make sure that the soundbar is connected to to the TV through HDMI ARC. You can check the manual for reference. https://docs.sony.com/release//Manual_4687591121.pdf. Regards, -Erin
