“Hi! I'm looking for a portrait lens for the Sony a5100, I'm debating on either this (35mm) or the 50mm, anyone got any recommendations or their favorite of the two. Thanks!”

I dont have the 50mm but this 35mm is amazing at portraits! I have the sony a5000 and it has been amazing. I'm sure you will enjoy it as well.

The 50mm is best for portraits in my opinion. I have both the 35mm and the 50mm the ones I have are both f1.8 so the only real difference I see is that with the 35mm I dont have to stand so far away compare to the 50mm if I want to get the whole body in the shot.
