“If I buy a Sony 43X720E I would try to connect an optical audio cable to the TV’s Digital Audio Out (Optical), then run the cable through a digital to analog audio converter and into my analog stereo system. Any reason why this wouldn't work?”

Hi Paddy, there is no assurance that a converter/adapter will work with this TV. We highly suggest connecting the TV directly to the audio system using the available type of connections. Thanks! ^Ron
