“Why do the bottom screws to attach the stand to the tv not fit? They are too small. I am trying to attach the stand to my tv kdl-50w800c. The brackets that go into the back of the tv fit perfect. The screws that attach the stand to the bottom of the tv brackets do not tighten, they are too small. The stand will come off once you take you hands off of it. Am I missing something, doing it wrong? I did not receive an owners manual”

Yes, you are doing it wrong. I had the same issue and the same thoughts as you. I just kept futzing with it then when I got it right I said "oh, it was me!". Sorry, I don't remember what I did different other than kept at it. Once you do get it, you wonder why it wasn't so apparent to begin with!
