• Yes, although I have a A6000, the A6500 is an APS-C e-mount camera (I considered the A6500 body - so I’m familiar with it). This lens is a great piece of prime glass with OSS (optical steady shot) and is excellent for portrait shots on these cameras! I love mine!

• Hi LuLuBell, SEL50F18 lens is compatible with ILCE-6500 but with restriction. Fast Hybrid AF is available with the lens system software Ver.02 or later. Regards, Vincent
