Over-the-air Broadcasts are 720 HD so yes this TV will up-convert the signal and it should look pretty good. It won't be as good as 4K content, but it should look good.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think so,. and I returned my Samsung SUHD for this one. So far blu ray looks better than Samsung and Netflix is clear. It has a HDR picture setting once u update the firmware, I have been using this for movies and games, it adds more color and detail for example playing Rise of Tomb Raider on xb1, HDR added so much more depth and look. Seems to also be a true 120hz TV. I put on Smooth motion and there was very minimal blur
