This TV should change to accommodate the signal that is coming in from the provider. The Bravia 9. stays bright when the image is bright and dims when the image is not as bright, is normal. This feature helps to improve the overall viewing experience by providing better contrast and dynamic range. If you find this behavior distracting, you can try adjusting the light sensor in the TV settings to a more comfortable level.
