Hi James, Thanks for your inquiry. The S-CENTER SPEAKER IN terminal can only be used with compatible Sony soundbars or audio products. This input allows you to connect your compatible Sony soundbar/audio system to the TV for enhanced audio playback using the TV as a center channel speaker in a multi-channel setup. Unfortunately, it's not designed for the STRDH790 as a center channel configuration. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can't speak 100% for the 65" Sony as I don't have external speakers set up for it yet. I do have a similar 77" TV with that set up and no center channel sound signal is sent back to the TV. However, these 2 units were purchased about 4 months apart and there's no telling what subtle changes Sony has made in their internal workings.
