Depending on your room size and viewing/listening discretion a sound bar will certainly give you a "better" sound. But, the sound from the screen and the amazing subwoofer in the back produces a truly unexpected good to great sound. One suggestion, try the Screen sound first. You can always add a bar if it isn't good enough for you.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sound bar is not required. We enjoy streaming music and music videos and the sound is perfect and loud. The sound is perfectly balanced so we did not need to use the equalizer to affect the output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound from the (tv) screen is sufficient for viewing, for sure. If you're just worried about hearing the tv dialog, etc., no problem. So, if you're considering a sound bar to plug into the tv only (not into a stereo), I wouldn't bother. I've got my tv hooked up to my stereo in case I'm watching a show or movie where it's best watched with the better sound. But most of the time, I watch with only the tv sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound is loud enough but the quality of the sound is more enhanced and clear with sound bar.
