“I currently have this connected via a digital optical cable. It's a decent brand but the sound isn't very loud. Would I be better of using an HDMI cable to the hdmi port with ARC? I have 4 hdmi ports on my Sony 900E. I was told the first port was crap.”

Hi edtv, We highly suggest using HDMI cable for better audio/video experience and to use the ARC function of your Soundbar and your TV.
