QuestionIs there a separate voice channel? After decades of headphones and too many concerts, I have a difficult time with the dialogue. I have a Polk system that is supposed to have a clear voice channel BUT it POPS continuously annoying me and startling my pets

- Answer The remote has a Voice button that cycles between Up1 / Up2 / Off, effectively giving you 2 levels of enhancing the dialogue. Works very well, pulling the voice out of background rumble, making it much easier to understand what people are saying.

- Answer Yes! Today, Sony released a firmware update (version M40.R.0374) enabling support for DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, and standard DTS Digital Surround. The update also allows for the pass-through of Dolby Vision video signals.

- Answer It will work good with any Sony TV. The more important question is what your room is like. If you want true surround sound you may want to do the traditional receiver with back and front speakers. However, if the room is pretty small or enclosed this sound bar is very good.

Questionis the Sony HT-ST5000 soundbar compatible with alexa? can you control functions like on/off or volume level using alexa voice commands

- Answer Yes, I connected my Echo via Bluetooth and it streams to the sound bar. You can’t control the sound bar itself but the Echo can control the volume it sends to the sound bar so it works good. It would be nice to have complete control (switch input etc) but it plays music well and the sound bar sounds way better then the built in Echo speaker.

QuestionCan this bar be mounted above the tv and still give the high quality audio experience? I have a nice shelf a few inches above the tv. Tv is wall mounted. Thanks!

QuestionI'm looking at this soundbar, but I have vaulted ceilings. I was thinking of tilting the soundbar up in the front to pitch the atmos speakers a bit to throw the sound at a different angle. Does anyone know if this would work? Frank

- Answer Don't bother tilting the bar, the speakers are already pitched. Moreover, if the speakers are not ceiling mounted, the Atmos sound will be more immersive than object based. I have the same type of ceilings.

QuestionI would connect 3 components via HDMI: Apple TV 4K, Blu-Ray disk player and Cable box and then HDMI out to Sony X690E 60" (ARC to ARC). Will I be able to use the apps on the TV and then the audio would go back to the sound bar (is ARC bi-directional)?

- Answer Hi Dave, yes, HDMI ARC is bidirectional. You may use the apps on your TV and the audio will come out of your soundbar when using an HDMI ARC connection. ARC eliminates the need for an optical cable, and we always recommend using an HDMI ARC connection when setting up our soundbars or devices that support ARC. Regards, -Mark

QuestionDoes this soundbar now support eARC? Am looking at one of the Sony Master series tv's and they support eARC. My understanding is this allows me to connect STB & UHD bluray player to tv and tv to soundbar eliminating the need to switch inputs on soundbar?

- Answer The remote control has a button that controls that volume of the subwoofer. So you can change the volume as low as you want and even completely mute it. But I wouldn't recommend it because that bass is so beautiful (hence my name).

QuestionI'm planning on wall mounting this bar ~6" under my TV. TV sticks out 4.63". With this mounted on the wall, with a Rocketfish Soundbar mount, it will stick out 6.2" (5.7"+.5"). Does anybody know if the TV above is going obstruct the Atmos effect?

- Answer Hi Mike G. If the soundbar has at least 2" protrusion away from the TV, you'll be fine. The S-Force PRO Front Surround technology that this soundbar has gives out a three-dimensional audio feel coming out of its front speakers. Thanks, -Mark
