Any subwoofer would work with this receiver. However a modern design powered subwoofer that uses the subwoofer pre-amp outputs would give you the best performance. In subwoofers, size matters. A good compromise would be a Klipsch R-12SW or the discontinued Klipsch Sub-12HG. Either of these would be fine choices for a home entertainment system. Just buy the Pioneer speakers and get the Klipsch subwoofer.
