For surround sound, I have my tv connected to my Yamaha receiver. When using the receiver controlled speakers, I get sound from every source through the same output on my stereo. I subscribe to You Tube tv and this Sony has the Google app on it, so it's like playing anything else directly off the tv. My old tv was not "smart" and I connected my YouTube source ( a Roku box ) as you do your cable to the receiver. When I was not playing through the Roku, I had to select a different audio source on the receiver for over the air content or my DVD player. Hope this helps.

Go to settings then select Display & Sound → Audio output → eARC mode → Auto. Also, go to Display & Sound → Audio output → Speakers → Audio system.
