Not sure about your second question about the blu-ray player as I will be using an Xbox one or a PS5 to watch movies but, my roommate had his bose 700 soundbar hooked up to my TV and it worked well. I suggest that you hook up your bar to the eHDMI port so that ypu can control both your TV and soundbar with one remote
