We originally bought the 850, then I did some research on the 900, found that it had full backlight instead of edge light so went back to the store to look again. The 900 was in the Magnolia room along side much more expensive sets. I found the 900 to have a picture quality just as pleasing to my eye as the expensive ones. I felt it was worth paying the extra over the 850 so returned the 850. The 850 has a nice crisp picture but I am much happier with the 900. I felt it was worth the extra money but not everyone may feel that way. The colors remain equal across the screen of the 900 where I did see a bit of difference on the 850 due to the edge lighting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For me it’s no difference and the price went down again and I’m happier, been wanting this 75inch for quite sometime.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So I ended up buying the XBR75900E and couldn't be happier. The black color of this TV is one of the best I have every seen! When a scene turns to black, you almost think that the TV is off because its so black. Also I have found no color gradation as well, the picture is great. Was it worth the $800? Sure was! Sound could always be better but it is what it is, I do have an LG sound bar that I have not connected yet. I am contemplating a new Sony sound bar to match the set. Very happy with my purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 900e has a full led back lighting vs 850e led edge lighting which gives it a brighter picture. That’s pretty much it. The rest is identical across the board. Most Bsst buy stores have them mounted side by side viewing. Check them out for yourself.
