Yet, Sony's specifications are often the least impressive. This is why other companies such as Vizio, TCL, and Hisense have been able to gain such a large share of the North American market for TVs. There is no reason to spend $1,700 for a large Sony HDTV when you can spend $900 for an HDTV with even better specifications - including greater brightness, deeper blacks, higher native refresh rate, etc.
