Is this camera considered as a compact camera ? null

I would not consider this a compact camera. When I think compact, I see an all in one solution with an intergral lens that can't be changed. This camera is more in the middle. Its larger than a compact, but smaller than a full frame camera. It is very light. However. You have to buys a lens as the base camera will not come with one. I would still recommend this camera over a compact as it sits right in the middle for features of Sonys lineup for middle size cameras. There are a lot of after market accessories that fit it.
