“The clock has started beeping at midnight—just 5 or 6 quick beeps, It’s like an alarm except that it stops on its own. I don’t think the battery can be flat because it’s not very old and not the low-battery behavior the manual says to expect. Fix ideas?”

• It was never this clock making the noise. It was another device entirely. The clock is good,
