Hi Billy360, if you're looking for a device that will only be used for watching movies from discs, we recommend getting the Sony S6700 Bluray player. The PlayStation is a great device for viewing too, however, it receives updates from time to time which you need to download, those updates are intended mostly for gaming. Thanks, -Mark
