But personally, I use the network connector on the rear that comes from my provider's modem to avoid any buffering. And if uploading firmware, I like the stable signal from a network connection. I also highly approve of this unit because it upscales standard video into a signal with higher resolution, allowing your DVDs to look better on larger screens while the audio plays CD-R and CD-RW as well as for video DVD-R and DVD RW recordings. And it is so light you might think the shipping box was empty when picking it up from your front door.. As an FYI, I put four rubber risers on my unit to keep it from touching the top of my cable box that tends to get very warm. And you will find the unit very small when compared to older Blu-Ray players. I hope this helps.
