“I have a Samsung smart TV but now I find myself in need of a 4k blu ray DVD player. I was told the Sony BDP-S6700 with wi-fi was a good choice and I could do my YouTube thru it. I'm not tech savvy but not stupid. Help/advice please? Thanks”

Yes, when connected to a Wifi network the BDP-S6700 player provides a link to YouTube in the menu
