• Do you need it to burn & record DVD's or just play DVD's & CD's ? This DVD device is only a player.

• Hi Alwaysmobile, No, this unit doesnt work as an external bluray player. This unit is a regular bluray player and it only works when connected to a TV. Hope this helps. Regards, Sam
