Hi Bruce, Thank you for your question! The feature that allows your Sony devices to be controlled together is called HDMI CEC or Control for HDMI. This function uses the HDMI cable connection to interlock your soundbar, Blu-ray player, and TV so they operate as one system. Connection Steps: To use this feature, you must connect your Sony Blu-ray Player and the BRAVIA Theater System 6 both via HDMI to your Sony BRAVIA TV. Important Note: For seamless operation, the Control for HDMI setting must be actively enabled on all three devices.
