“I purchased a Sony STR-DH790 Receiver. Considering a Sony SACS9 Core Series 10" 115W Subwoofer. Are the two units compatible and how do I hook up the subwoofer as DH790 only has an RCA jack for subwoofer output and SACS9 seems to have wire connections.”

I bought the same receiver and had the exact same issue. Did some research and talked to other people and went with purchasing the Sony 115W Subwoofer. It comes with a wire for the RCA but I recommend buying a Insignia 15 Subwoofer Cable. Longer wire and better quality. Hope this helps!

Please try again later.They definitely are compatible the sub if you look at the pics and see the back of the sub it has a mono port looks like a headphone jack you plug one end to that port and the other to the sub out port in the reciever back side, no other wires needed and you get the best lows possible and has mobs in the back of the sub for volume gh for your bass needs. Hope this helps. I have the dh590 which is 100 dollars cheaper and it's the same features.
