Tremendous value for an awesome subwoofer !!!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. My original single subwoofer was making noises and failing so I went to Best Buy to see what they had. Didn't need or want the $800-$1000 subs for the medium HT room I was redesigning so I bought 1 of these - man, what an immediate clean transparent bass sound. Exactly what you want a sub to do. So awesome I went back and bought a 2nd one and used an RCA splitter out of my single sub out from my AV receiver and have a sweet 7.2 HT setup. Fantastic sound and dialed in the 2 subs to balance bass from the front and rear, even my wife noticed how much better the sound is watching TV and movies or music. Great value for a sub if your looking to upgrade your system.

Big things come in small packages
||Posted .This subwoffer is literally one third the size of my old one. And yet it delivers AWESOME bass without any of the vibration that my older one would output at higher volumes. Highly recommend! You will have to look hard to spot it in my pic. It's on the far right.

Q: QuestionWill this subwoofer work with the Sony STR-DH190 stereo receiver? I was thinking since it has speaker inputs and outputs that I would run the speaker connects through the woofer and it would do the crossover and send higher freq. signal onto L/R speakers
Asked by Brad48.
- A:Answer Yes, this will work with the STR-DH190 receiver.

Q: QuestionI bought this sub to connect to a Sony STR DH-590 Receiver but I’m getting no bass sound? Don’t know what I have connected wrong?
Asked by NoBass.
- A:Answer Check the wiring running to all your other speakers and ensure all the other speakers are playing. If the other speakers are working fine, then check the line running from your receiver to the bass. I am using an Insignia 15' Subwoofer cable to connect my receiver to my Core Series 10" bass. Check to make sure you have a solid connection. After checking all wires and speakers for connectivity, make sure you turn the bass itself on. The Sony Core Series 10" has its own power switch located on the back of the speaker near the bottom (its a push button switch). You'll know its on when you see a green light appear on top of the bass near the rear next to the vents. If you have the receiver connected correctly to the bass, AND you have the power switch on the bass pressed in and you see NO light on top of the bass, you have a power problem with the bass and you will need to get it fixed or turn it back in. If you have everything connected correctly, you DO have the power switch on the back of the bass pressed, and you DO see a green light on top of the bass but still have NO sound, you have a blown speaker in that subwoofer.

Q: QuestionI have a Yamaha ATS-1070 soundbar that has a "subwoofer out" jack in the rear (looks like a round RCA cable connection). The manual says to connect a subwoofer equipped with a built-in amplifier to the rear jack. Will this Sony work with the soundbar?
Asked by Larinho.
- A:Answer Yes, I am using this subwoofer for Yamaha ATS-1080 and sounds wonderful after adding this sub to speaker, yes the subwoofer out and Sony Input is same wire and provided with sony subwoofer.

Q: QuestionI bought the Insignia Receiver - NS-STR514 for a basic bluetooth receiver & Sony Core 5" 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers. Receiver does not have subwoofer output. Can I still use it? Maybe run speaker wires from receiver to sub to speakers?
Asked by Dennie.
- A:Answer Yes. You would run your speaker wires from the amp to the sub then out to the speakers. The cutoff control on the back then allows you to strip off the high frequencies that the sub does not use and let's the other speakers handle the higher frequencies.

Q: QuestionI have a tv with good speakers and just need better bass. Can I hook this sub to my tv without having to use a receiver or soundbar and use it in conjunction with the internal tv speakers instead?
Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer That’s exactly the way I’m using it. My TV allows selection of “subwoofer” out of the headphones jack, and that’s where I have it connected. Works great!

Q: QuestionHey, can I hook this up directly to a Sony A8H OLED TV to beef up the sound a bit? Would you recommend another subwoofer instead? Thanks!
Asked by Tom.
- A:Answer FYI, this is a feature that Sony TVs had for a while, but it appears they dropped by the A8H. If you can find an A8G then you can save some money and it should have this feature.

Q: Questiondo you have to connect the speakers to the subwoofer? I have all the speakers connected to the sony receiver. Should I change them?
Asked by filnetto.
- A:Answer Hi cashfil, thank you so much for your inquiry. We are not sure what model of Sony receiver you have. However, if your receiver support one or both of the following connections, no, you don't need to change your speaker setup: - MONO OUT jack - MIX OUT jack - SUBWOOFER output jack(s) - SUPER WOOFER output jack(s) You will only need to use the SPEAKER IN terminals of the subwoofer if your receiver doesn't support the above-mentioned output jacks. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Romeo
