It has a separate wall plug for power, and a separate power switch. However, it has an automatic power on feature, so you "turn it on" and leave it -- it detects when it's not in use and powers down when nothing's playing, then turns itself back on whenever the receiver starts.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sub has its own power. You can turn it on manually each time you use it, or there is a power saver switch on the back which will only turn the speaker on when it's receiving a signal. The downside is the speaker constantly turns on and off, depending on if it's getting sub-bass frequencies. It can be a bit annoying. But the speaker itself works perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the sub plugs into the wall for power and gets the signal through a rca cable that plugs into the receiver which is included. when you reciever is powered up the sub is on. it has tuning controls on the back of the sub for volume level and cutoff level. hope this helps.
