Hi Jrock, No, this is a subwoofer and doesn't have a party mode or party chain feature. It also is not compatible with the SHAKE-X10. It is designed for receivers. You may refer to this link for more information: https://docs.sony.com/release//SACS9.pdf ~Ralph

It’s also portable enough to move outside for a pool party. BUT be aware: this is not a mini or book shelf system. The amplifier unit is about 18" wide by about a foot deep and about six inches high. The speakers are about 13x19x15". The whole thing, amp plus speakers, weighs about 75 pounds. But the system can rock! Plays very loud for its size and, as advertised, it can really output the bass with the Mega Bass feature as is. And the SA-CS9 would add another 25-30 pounds as far as mobility. As for your question I'm not sure if the Sony Shake X10 - audio system is compatible with the SA-CS9 subwoofer so you'll need to check with Sony or your local Best Buy to be sure. But it does have an "audio line-out" that "might" let you hook-up the SA-CS9 with a sub-woofer cable but like I say one of the main features of the X10 is its bass. I bought the Sony SA-CS9 to add to my home theater system featuring a Sony STR-DN1050 7.2 Channel Hi-Res 4K AV receiver. As far as the SA-CS9 it does enhance the audio richness and to have that “extra punch” when watching movies is a game changer to say the least. Blu-Ray DVDs still sound clear and balanced but now can be heard AND felt for an improved viewing experience! And as for digital music it also sounds quite good from either a CD, Wi-Fi stream or a USB source. The dynamic range of my "towers" combined with the crisp tight bass makes the audio presence very pleasing for digital and high definition audio. But again that's on my home theater setup. Hope this helps.
