If sound is being emitted through sources other than the headphone jack while you’re attempting this, the television may be disabling the headphone output. It might be worth digging through the TV’s manual and through the settings to determine if this is in fact the case, and if it can be overridden. Plug in wired headphones and verify. Otherwise, assuming there is a signal present at the headphone jack, the subwoofer’s built in low pass filter should eliminate the undesirable higher frequencies allowing you to hear the bass you’re presumably seeking.

Unfortunately, we cannot connect our SA-CS9 115W 10” Active Subwoofer to our A8H Sony OLED TV directly. The headphone audio out port of our A8H doesn't support an active subwoofer connection. For the SA-CS9, The line input port of this subwoofer usually connects to an amplifier or AV receiver that has a special jack for a subwoofer (like a MONO OUT jack, MIX OUT jack, SUBWOOFER jack, or SUPER WOOFER jack). You can also connect the amplifier or AV receiver if it does not have the mentioned output jacks to the SPEAKER IN terminals of the subwoofer. To use the SA-CS9 with your A8H, you will need to have an amplifier/ AV receiver that support the connections of both devices. You might consider getting one of the following home receivers: • STR-DH190 - https://www.sony.com/electronics/av-receivers/str-dh190 • STR-DH590 - https://www.sony.com/electronics/av-receivers/str-dh590 • STR-DH790 - https://www.sony.com/electronics/av-receivers/str-dh790 Should you need more assistance, please feel free to contact us and we'll be more than happy to assist you.
