Hi Jim, You can connect a speaker on this this Sony SACS9 as long as it is compatible with the power output which is 115 W (6 ohms, 80 Hz, 10% THD) and connecting cables. For further information please check this link: https://docs.sony.com/release/SACS9.pdf - Jerome
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, has amplifier built in with standard wire audio connections
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can not. This receives its audio from the receiver, and does not output to any sources. What you're speaking of is a sub that comes with a Home Theater in a Box kit. You would have to buy that particular sub, as it is made specifically for your system. Another sub may work, but may not do the job well, and may fry your system. The OHM rating on the back of speakers and connections may look like just ghibberish, but it's there for a reason.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not directly to the speaker, you'll have to have a receiver to do that. So the subwoofer would wire to the receiver, along with all of your speakers assuming you bought a 5.1 receiver.
